how long would batteries last?

Hi,

I know this will depend on how mbed is used and to what it is connected, but let's say we just have mbed running without any Ehternet or anything else connected to it. How long would your average AA battery or 2x of them last if I set them up as a power source?

Would it be like 1 minute, 1 hour, 10 hours, 100 hours?

Setting aside all the others resistors, capacitors and three-hundred things we need to take into consideration, would it run on batteries and if so, how long?

Thanks!

my guess would be at least ten hours assuming you have a 1000maH battery

3 x AA then you'll be good. Need more than 3.3V to run the regulator on the board. Average AA has a capacity between 800 and 2400 mAh. So you could run it for long time, but I wouldn't count on it to last days.

Perhaps the use could be with a sleep-routine, then you'll drop the currant draw to much less than awake?
