mbed does not create a com port, Why?

When I plug my mbed in it creates a drive but when I try to run a program using "serial pc(USBTX, USBRX)" there is no usb com port created so I don't have a way to see the output. What am I doing wrong?

Did you read the manual page in full? Specifically the highlighted section about installing the USB drivers for serial port operation?

No, I didn't and that fixed the issue. Thanks for the help. Wouldn't a mention of that be something to include in the setup guide?

Hi

A good idea is to save the driver setup on the flash disk.

That way you always can install it once you plug it into a pc as the flash disk uses built-in windows drivers.
