Transistors

Hello, I need a transistor in a circuit, but I don't know how to code for it.

How do I code for a transistor?

What are you doing with the transistor ?

Are you just driving a light bulb, or relay, Or is it patron of a SMPSU ? Is it Lo-side, or Hi-side ? A single transistor, or darlington ? Linear, or analogue O/P

Tell us more, so we can help !

Yeah a bit more info would be useful. Generally you connect a digital output to the base of a transistor (through a resistor - good practice) and drive a load connected to the collector or emitter of the transistor (depending on if it's a NPN or PNP transistor).

With some more info we would be able to help you out more.

Actually, I'm an idiot, it's not a transistor - it's a capacitor.

We still need more info to help !

Well, I figure I need a capacitor to get higher output...

?

I want to go higher than 5v

Do you want to switch a higher voltage ?

Perhaps 12 - 24 Volts ?

Then a transistor is what you need. But once again, give some info so someone could Give you a solution.

I shall need to get a transistor first... hurrm hurrm
