Some advice would eb welcome please.
I have a few little projects working on my mbed where communication has been over the USD/serial link. This allows me to pass all my data in each direction as character strings and works well and is (when correctly programmed!!) robust.
As an educational excercise I now would like to use ethernet instead of the USB/serial link.
A search on Amazon revealed a very large number of books so some advice as to what would be a good starting book will be welcome.
As this is an educational project I am keen to understand the basis of what i am doing. Simply porting existing code without understanding will not be appropraite here.
