My mbed arrived today and I'm very keen to have a go and see how it works. I've worked with PICs before but found them to be a bit clunky sometimes, although very powerful for the right task. I like the idea of simply dragging a program to the mbed and pressing reset. Lets see how we get on.
Update
Me. Beginner....Programmed with BASIC years ago as a kid. Been playing with PIC microcontrollers for a couple of years. Got a few projects in mind and have been experimenting on and off with Swordfish BASIC for PIC18F.
I lked the look of the MBED so thought I'd give it a try.
So far very impressed. Compiler works well and is dead simple to use. Loading software onto MBED is a piece of cake. Up and running already with some of the example software, flashing LEDs and sending text to PC via USB and Tera Term. Very please.
I don't have the first clue about programming C++ however. Have been reading a bit on the net and ordered a Beginners C++ book from Amazon.
Here we go...
