Downloaded the examples for mbed at the Embedded Artists site. To use the OLED, I added a wire as detailed on the cookbook page here

 

I unzipped the demo example. Importing into the mbed compiler was a bit of a pain- I had to open all the sub folders and select the contents one file at a time. This could just be my ignorance, and it isn't that difficult to do, but it seems like it should be a bit more straightforward.

Demo runs fine. Drawing on the OLED with the joystick is just like an etch-a-sketch. Clearing is done by pressing the stick down. As one turns the potentiometer, the OLED turns on and off.

Pretty satisfying for a check out of the mbed and the baseboard.
