My Choice of Project

OK, so I have thought about this for a while and here is my "Internet of Things" project idea using the FRDM Board, in keeping with the theme of health and fitness devices: A "Sleep Machine" - a smart alarm clock that does basic alarm clock things plus a list of health and fitness features.

Features: On LCD - Basic Alarm Clock which automatically syns with Atomic Time Temperature Humidity Part O2 Altitude Pollution (dust and particulates) Weather report

Slider - Controls LED lighting to change from various colors to bright white for visibility

Warnings - Smoke Detector Carbon Monoxide detector

Air Quality - Ionizer

Better sleep patterns - Programmed in background noise for - relaxation, contentment, peace, etc. Active Noise Cancellation

High Quality Speakers in an attractive high quality case that makes it feel a part of you.

This is a "Travel Alarm Clock" with health and well-being benefits using IoT sensors:

Features: On LCD - Basic Alarm Clock which automatically syns with Atomic Time, weather report, AM/FM radio, iPod (or other) player speaker interface, streaming Pandora (Music Genome Project) radio

Sensors: Temperature, Humidity, Barometric Pressure, Particulates, O2, O3, Altitude, Pollution (dust and particulates) - Warnings - Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide detector. (This info sent to cloud)

Slider - Controls Bright LED lighting to change from various colors to bright white for visibility

Air Quality - Ionizer that turns on automatically when needed

Better sleep patterns - Programmed in background noise for - relaxation, contentment, peace, etc. Active Noise Cancellation - Active EMF harmonizer.

LCD via Parallel Interface to microcontroller

Basic Clock (on LCD) which automatically syncs with Atomic Time (via Wi-Fi or LAN)

Environmental Sensors read through SPI interface(s): Temperature, Humidity, Barometric Pressure, Particulates, O2, O3, Altitude, Pollution (dust and particulates) - Warnings - Smoke Detector and Carbon Monoxide detector. (This info sent to cloud via Wi-Fi or LAN) output can be viewed through LCD screen

Slider - Controls Bright LED lighting to change from various colors to bright white for visibility controlled via LED interface various colors signify different environmental concerns + audible alarm(s)

Health Benefits

Air Quality - Ionizer that turns on automatically when needed via I2C interface with micro-controller

Active Noise Cancellation + Active EMF harmonizer - Controlled through I2C interface with micro-controller.

Better sleep or waking environmental noise patterns - Programmed in background noise for - relaxation, contentment, peace, etc. NO - not for this project!

Slider - Controls Bright LED lighting to change from various colors to bright white for visibility control LED interface - various colors signify different environmental concerns + audible alarm(s) = LED INTERFACE
