mbed FRDM KL25Z cannot be detected in windows 7 64-bit ?

Hi, my computer is windows 7 64-bit. After I copy the "mbed_if_v2.0_frdm_kl25z.s19" file to FRDM KL25Z in bootloader mode, then unplug and replug the usb connection, the FRDM KL25Z is not detected by my computer. In device manager the status is unknown. If i plug FRDM KL25Z to other computer with windows 7 32-bit, it is detected as "mbed". Why does it not work in windows 7 64-bit? How to make it works in windows 7 64-bit?

Thank you

THE PROBLEM IS SOLVED. Actually i am little embarrassed, but maybe it will help others that have the same problem :D I just open the device manager, right click and select for "scan for hardware changes", then the computer installs the driver automatically without problem, and computer can detect it :D

Thank you !!!

Hi,

From what you are saying, your FRDM-KL25Z is working on your friends Windows 7 32-bit machine, but not your Windows 7 64-bit machine.

This suggests that the FRDM-KL25Z is working correctly, just not with your machine.

I can confirm there are no know issues with Windows 7 64-bit. The mbed team all have this configuration, so it is the *first* platform that is tested!

The board works, and the there are no issues on Window 7 64-bit, so I think we need to consider what might be different about your machine.

Is there any software running on your machine, maybe antivirus software or disk monitoring programs that might be accessing the disk? Is there anything else unusual about your machine (are you running virtual machine images etc)

Many thanks, Chris

I have tried to uninstall the antivirus (avira) and it is still unknown in the device manager. What do you mean with "virtual machine images" ? Additional information : Whenever my computer tries to install the driver for mbed, it always fails. I try to connect the board to other windows 7 64-bit computer, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY. So I think the problem is in my computer like you said before, but what?
