Big black blob

What is that big black blob doing underneath the LPC1768? It is not in the schematics. How does it come that

the USB disk has 2MB of disk space and the uC is only specced for 512kb? Questions, questions?

See here. The USB drive is in a separate chip and not on the LPC1768.
