Nice work!

What do you hink of the accelerometer (would you recommend it), and where did you get hold of it?

I would highly recommend it, it's a great little board.

The site I bought it from (crodnet.co.uk) has been down for the last few weeks (which made finding a datasheet rather difficult), so I'm not sure you can get them any more.
