I started in computing way back on a PDP8/I, but the first PC I owned was an Apple ][e. My favourite PCs were the BBC Model B and the Acorn Archimedes for their easy to use OS API. I learnt C on the Archimedes to get a job writing C on the IBM PC for DOS and early *nix clones. I use Windows for almost all my computing these days but enjoy forays back into the Linux world now and again. For the last 3 years I have been using both AVR and ARM in development contracts. Whilst I enjoy C programming I have to brush up my C++, not having used it for some years.
