GNSS receiver is not available

Hey,

I connected my C027 and played with C027_ModemTransparentSerial_UBLOX_C027 and C027_GPSTransparentSerial_UBLOX_C027

Everything works great, except when I'm using m-center and trying to get location from the GNSS I get "GNSS receiver is not available" And I can only use Cell Locate which is only using Triangulation on the cells right? and is not accurate enough.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Dan

Question relating to:

This example establishes a transparent link between the mbed serial port and the modem (LISA or SARA) on the C027. You can use it to use the standard u-blox tools … C027, modem, Serial

Hi Dan,

First of all, I advise you to use u-center for GNSS module evaluation. The "m-center" tool is for evaluation of cellular modules. Sure, you can interface GNSS module also with m-center, you should receive continuous NMEA messages in the terminal..

Which example program do you use when seeing the "GNSS receiver is not available" message? Can you provide more details? I think you are interfacing cellular module while your GNSS is powered down..

Hope this helps, Jaka

Hey Jaka,

I used both u-center and m-center to test all the capabilities. So like you said the GNSS works while I'm using the u-center, and I do get the NMEA messages in the terminal.

I get the "GNSS receiver is not available" message when using the "C027_ModemTransparentSerial" and m-center, in the Positioning tab clicking the GNSS Test button; As I understand it should work because the cellular module is connected to the GNSS using the DDC (I2C) interface.

Do I need to turn it on first? If so, how can I turn it on?

Thanks, Dan
