MBED WEBSITE DATA USE AND PRIVACY POLICY
1. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
This policy sets out the basis on which any Data (defined below) we collect from you and your use of the Website will be processed ("Data Use and Privacy Policy"). This Data Use and Privacy Policy forms part of and is incorporated into the Website Terms and Conditions of Use. Any capitalised terms used in this Data Use and Privacy Policy, unless otherwise defined, shall have the same meaning as ascribed to them under the Website Terms and Conditions of Use. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), the data controller is ARM Limited, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 2557590 (hereinafter "we/us/our" as applicable). The ARM Group shall mean any company whose voting shares are directly or indirectly controlled by ARM Limited.
2. DATA WE MAY COLLECT
We collect and process data which; (i) relates to you and from which you can be identified ("Personal Data"); and (ii) relates to your use of the Website which does not on its own identify you ("Technical Data"), which collectively shall be referred to as "Data".
Personal Data may include but may not be limited to:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on the Website including but not limited to name, postal and email addresses and other information provided at the time of registering to use the Website, subscribing to or using any service through the Website, uploading material or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you report a problem with the Website.

Technical Data may include but may not be limited to:

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Data transmitted to the Website; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your Data, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

We may disclose or sell results of analysis of your Technical Data (but not the Technical Data itself) to third parties in an aggregated and anonymous form (so that it does not contain any Personal Data) for any purpose. Further we have the right to remove any material or posting you make on the Website if, in our opinion, such material should not be posted on the Website. Any and all material you upload to the Website will be considered non-confidential.
7. TERMINATION OF THE AGREEMENT AND YOUR RIGHTS
Under this Data Use and Privacy Policy, we have informed you how we intend to use your Data. You have the right to ask us to cease processing your Personal Data. You can exercise your right at any time by contacting us at support@mbed.org. By asking us to cease using your Personal Data, you are terminating the Agreement. Consequently you may no longer use the Website. In the event this agreement is terminated, we will cease processing and delete your Personal Data within a reasonable time of such request. Notwithstanding the foregoing, nothing shall require us to purge our routinely made backup data. We shall not access and use such back up data for the purpose of accessing and processing your Personal Data after termination of this agreement. We shall be entitled to continue to use your Technical Data as set out herein.
The Website may, from time to time, contain links to external website. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any Data to these websites.
8. ACCESS TO DATA
The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access Personal Data held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Any access request may be subject to a fee to meet our costs in providing you with details of the Personal Data we hold about you.
9. CHANGES TO THIS DATA USE AND PRIVACY POLICY
Any changes we may make to this Data Use and Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by e-mail.
