No drive appears FAQ

Question:

I have plugged my mbed Microcontroller into my computer. The status LED has come on, but no drive has appeared.

Ensure the USB plug has been pushed in fully. It is possible for the connector to be in enough to provide power to the board, but not in far enough for the USB drive to be detected.
Windows can be lazy in adding new drives. If your drive hasn't appeared in ''My Computer'' after a few seconds, press F5, which forces a refresh. Often explorer windows will also need you to hit F5 to refresh and display the MBED drive.
