Compiler error : /tmp/Jo7KoZsC.bin.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Compiler fails to compile any of my source with error :

/tmp/xxxxxx.bin.part could not be saved, because the source file could not be read.

Try again later, or contact the server administrator.

/tmp/ file is different every time.

Browser is firefox 3.6.9 on Ubuntu 10.04LTS, but it sounds like a server-side issue?

Hi Ian,

Could you confirm whether:

The problem occurs on all of your programs or just one? Can you compile the default new program?

You are using the beta compiler or the standard compiler, and whether the problem occurs on whichever one you are not using?

Many thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

All my programs, most unchanged from the last sucessful compilation.

Standard Compiler.

I did not attempt to create a new program and compile that - I will if the issue re-occurs.

This morning everything is fine again.. ho, hum!

Cheers,

Ian.

Ok Ian, let me know if it reoccurs.

Out of interest - does the compiler say 'Success'?, and then the error appears?

I have a feeling it might actually be a client network issue relating to downloading and saving the resulting compiled binary - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Source_file_could_not_be_read .

Ah ha!

I have just enabled a new pop-up blocker on FF at home..

I will check when I get back - as you say, sounds like a client issue (all good when I logged in on IE from work).

Yes, the compiler says 'success'.

Sorry - I didn't check on another browser because I'd been happily using FF since day one.. 'my bad' as they say.

I'll post to confirm that that was the issue.

Thanks! Ian.
